Mental Health Programming Expands for California Veterans

Mental healthcare matters - especially to aging veterans. In 2024, 61% of new enrollees at Swords to Plowshares were veterans 55 years or older. As we respond to the needs of aging veterans, we’re thrilled to announce our partnership with the California Veterans Health Initiative Mental Health Support Program (CVHI-MHSP) via California Department of Veterans Affairs.

The support from CVHI-MHSP will fund our work to expand veteran wellness programs including hiring more mental health and support staff to better serve the Greater Bay Area. You can learn more about the grant program on CalVet's website. Thank you for joining us in the effort to leave no veteran behind!

It’s worth it to come out here determined to make a connection.” - Tonya Greenlee, Swords’ Outreach
