Swords to Plowshares is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit that provides transitional and permanent housing, employment services, legal assistance, therapy, and case counseling completely free of charge to veterans in the San Francisco Bay Area. Additionally, we advocate to increase access to justice and resources for the most vulnerable veterans, including those who:
are unhoused;
have low income, service-related disabilities, or a less than honorable discharge due to unjust policies and circumstances; or
experience PTSD and other mental health struggles.
Our Legal Services team provides free legal representation in VA benefits and discharge upgrade cases to help veterans access healthcare, education, and monetary benefits from the VA, which they earned through military service. We restore veterans’ dignity and pride in their military service, open doors to healthcare and employment access, and ensure veterans with disabilities have the income they need to achieve long-term stability.
Our donors believe in empowering veterans and ending veteran homelessness. Every contribution directly supports essential services, offering health, housing, wellness, and stability for those who served.
