Let's Go #GotYour6!

On September 24, Swords to Plowshares was proud to co-host the Bob Woodruff Foundation's first National Got Your 6 Summit in our hometown! The sold-out day at Hilton Union Square brought together leaders from more than 425 Got Your 6 Network partners from across the country, all in one room, with one purpose: making sure veterans and military families get the support they've earned.

It quickly became apparent that the room held a wide range of people. Some of their organizations focus on housing. Others on employment, mental health, caregivers, food security, or art advocacy. Some serve a single town; others work in every state.

Each brought hard-won lessons from their own communities. And every one of them showed up for the same reason: they want veterans to thrive. Again and again, we heard leaders ask the same question: how can we work together? People traded solutions to problems their peers had already cracked, pointed each other toward partners who could fill gaps in service, and turned email contacts into real relationships.

Many left the Summit with new partners, fresh ideas, and a renewed sense of what's possible when this community pulls in the same direction. Thank you to the Bob Woodruff Foundation for bringing us together, and to every organization that made the trip to San Francisco.
