The annual staff picnic is a decades-old tradition – a time for us to relax and enjoy one another’s company. FAQs
Checking in at the Gardens:
Enter through the main entrance of the Gardens and check in under “Swords to Plowshares.” Let the Gardens’ staff members know that you are attending an event in the Celebration Garden. If you do not check in under Swords to Plowshares, it will result in an entrance fee for those who are not SF residents.
Food & Drinks
We are pleased to have catering provided by Hugh Groman Group. They will provide a wide variety of food options – including vegan, vegetarian, and gluten-free – sure to please everyone.
Games & Things to Do
The Botanical Gardens is a beautiful, expansive park with many attractions, including the Children’s Garden, their own private library, and much more. Here is a guide & map. Please note that scooters, bikes, and pets are not permitted on the grounds. We will provide games and activities.
Attire
Casual attire. As you know, the weather in San Francisco can vary wildly in the summer. Bring layers and wear sunscreen!

The Botanical Gardens are located within Golden Gate Park in San Francisco. If you can, we encourage you to take public transportationI f you plan to drive, free street parking should be widely available during the week. However, you may choose to pay to park in the nearby parking garage (approximately one block away).
