Give warmth, compassion and holiday cheer to Bay Area veterans today.
Our nearly 40-year tradition at Swords to Plowshares has been to bring a little holiday cheer to veterans experiencing homelessness. We provide meals and services to veterans every day in our work, but it is important to celebrate together and bring isolated veterans in for shared holiday spirit. This year, we will prepare and deliver 300 backpacks and 250 holiday meals to veterans.

We are proud to build a community at Swords to Plowshares that strengthens belonging, hope, and friendship. No one should spend the holidays in isolation. Community involvement is an integral component to bettering the mental wellbeing of aging and disabled veterans. We will also support the 500 formerly homeless veterans who live in our five housing sites across San Francisco by providing them holiday backpacks and social activities to bring an extra measure of holiday cheer.
Whether it is $5 or $500, every little bit helps to provide the gift of warmth and compassion to veterans who need them the most.
