Seth Steward

Executive Director of The Crucible
Seth Steward serves as the Executive Director of The Crucible, a nonprofit arts school in Oakland. Prior to his current position, Seth worked as Chief of Staff for Oakland City Councilmember Dan Kalb, and before that, served as an Assistant District Attorney for over a decade in the San Francisco District Attorney’s Office. He also teaches criminal law at City College of San Francisco. Seth served in the United States Air Force for eight years as a Flight Engineer on a Combat Search and Rescue helicopter in the 129th Rescue Wing, California Air National Guard. He deployed to Iraq in 2018 and Kenya in 2021. Seth received his Master’s Degree in Public Administration from Harvard University, John F. Kennedy School of Government. He earned his Juris Doctor from the George Washington University Law School and obtained a Bachelor of Arts degree in Public Policy from Occidental College.
