Swords to Plowshares’ commitment to diversity, equity, and inclusion (DEI) is not just a statement; it's a transformative approach.

Centered in the principles of Cultural Humility, we foster an environment where everyone feels valued and heard. Explicitly addressing racial inequity ensures that all veterans have equal access to support, services, and resources.

Invest in DEI

Led by our DEI leadership team, we invest significant time, talent, and resources in our DEI work to actively champion equity and dignity for all staff and veteran clients.

Provide continuous staff training, ensure full participation in Cultural Humility and Supportive Supervision training.
Conduct DEI surveys, host targeted focus groups to enhance support and inclusion based on feedback from staff and veterans.

Support Staff

While we celebrate the diversity within the veteran community and our team, challenges remain in securing dedicated staff to fulfill our mission. We must invest significantly in the homeless workforce sector to ensure fair staff compensation.
