Home Depot Foundation Supports Housing for Homeless Veterans

A recent grant of $155,240 from the Home Depot Foundation supports our mission serving homeless veterans in the San Francisco Bay Area.

A recent grant of $155,240 from the Home Depot Foundation supports our mission serving homeless veterans in the San Francisco Bay Area. The grant will go a long way in helping us to create much-needed community space in one of our supportive housing sites for 41 formerly homeless veterans.

The grant will allow us to build a community kitchen, two additional housing units and space for community programming to provide ongoing therapy and engagement with residents at the Fairfax located in San Francisco.

We are grateful for the continued support The Home Depot Foundation has given to Swords to Plowshares dating back to 2012. It is because of supporters like Home Depot Foundation, with a strong commitment to housing veterans, that we are able to lift veterans out of poverty, into housing and help them to address their wounds of war every day.

It’s worth it to come out here determined to make a connection.” - Tonya Greenlee, Swords’ Outreach
