Swords to Plowshares understands that women veterans often struggle to access resources and care that addresses their identity as women and experiences in the military. Women veterans rely on systems of care that are often not equipped to address women and/or veteran-specific needs.
Services for Women Veterans

Swords to Plowshares’ launched the Women Veterans Program to ensure women feel welcomed and supported within the continuum of care and advocate for system change to better address women veterans’ emerging needs. In addition to our full continuum of services, our Women Veterans Program has launched new initiatives in recent years to provide women with wrap-around services and support.
- Peer Support Groups

Women Veterans Professional Network
Our Women Veterans Professional NetWork (WVPN) provides career-building workshops and facilitates career-focused peer mentoring relationships to support women veterans as they establish civilian careers. We facilitate a WVPN group on LinkedIn and we partner with Veteran eMentor Program to engage with women veterans online.
Rather than a one-day event, the WVPN is intended to be the first step in connecting women veterans with their peers and building a true network which will provide support and resources as education, job and career plans evolve over time.
