Weekend Program Monitor - Veterans Commons
Description

The Weekend Program Monitor is the gatekeeper to the Residences, enforcing residential policies to ensure safe, decent housing for tenants. Program Monitors oversee daily building activities, provide 24-hour security, and respond to building and tenant emergencies. As the first point of contact for visitors to our properties, Program Monitors exhibit professional, courteous and respectful conduct to tenants and building guests, enforcing property rules while creating a welcoming environment. This position is supervised by the Program Manager.

Responsibilities
  • Maintain good attendance record, including timely notification if unable to work shift
  • Monitor daily common area activities of building residents and guests
  • Maintain complete and accurate building logs: visitor log, overnight log, daily log
  • Maintain complete and accurate shift reports of activities, repairs, tenant requests, deliveries and services
  • Maintain building security, by making rounds of entryways and public areas indoors and outside
  • Screen all visitors to the building
  • Respond to building emergencies in compliance with the Property Management manual
  • Engage in courteous and respectful communications with tenants and guests
  • Assist tenants with the completion of work orders, incident reports and complaints
  • Assist the Building Manager with administrative tasks as directed
  • Maintain a clean and presentable work area, building entry and lobby
  • Accurately complete incident reports and complaints
  • Attend meetings as scheduling permits
  • Follow all rules and procedures outlined in the Swords Personnel Policy Manual, and STP House Rules
  • Employee must be able to perform all essential job requirements and responsibilities within what would be considered reasonable accommodation
Education
  • Associate’s degree, high school diploma or GED considered with experience
Experience
  • Minimum of three (3) years of experience working with “hard to serve”, substance abuse and mental health clients, with at least one (1) year in a human service agency
  • Translatable military experience and skills may be alternatively substituted
Qualifications
  • Maintain good attendance record, including timely notification if unable to work shift
  • An understanding of and experience working with issues of homelessness and recovery issues
  • Applicants with de-escalation and conflict resolution training recognized
  • Applicants are required to learn basic computer word processing and databases, etc
  • Present a relaxed, courteous and professional communication style; even under pressure
  • Must be able to communicate effectively with a variety of personalities and be comfortable working with an at-risk client population, including embracing the agency’s Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion initiative
