Weekend Evening Program Monitor

The part-time Weekend Evening Program Monitor provides services to dually diagnosed veteran residents. The Weekend Program Monitor’s responsibilities include monitoring the activities of residents after business hours, responding to emergencies, and completing appropriate documentation, including incident reports and log book entries, monitoring meals and working with clinical staff to facilitate treatment and identify resident issues.

  • Monitor the activities of residents on weekends
  • Respond to emergencies, crisis intervention, complete appropriate documentation (incident reports) and work with staff to facilitate treatment and identify resident issues
  • Accompany and supervise residents during meal times
  • Ability to drive clients to appointments as needed, and or provide pick up delivery service as needed
  • Maintain daily log book, monitor curfew, and sign-in
  • Clerical duties as assigned
  • Must be able to perform essential functions of this position within what would be considered reasonable accommodations
  • Associate’s degree, high school diploma or GED considered with experience
  • Minimum of three (3) years experience working with “hard to serve”, substance abuse and mental health clients, with at least one (1) year in a human service agency
  • Translatable military experience and skills may be alternatively substituted
  • Maintain good attendance record, including timely notification if unable to work shift
  • Managing the program environment after regular hours covering weekend shifts
  • Documentation, i.e. incident reports and log book entries
  • Clerical duties, i.e. photo copying and assembling charts, etc.
  • Perform comparable related duties as required by management
  • Must have reliable transportation and a clean driving record
  • Must be able to communicate effectively with a variety of personalities and be comfortable working with an at-risk client population, including embracing the agency’s Cultural Humility Initiative
  • Good communication skills
  • Ability to interact productively with residents and staff
  • Ability to work independently with minimal direct supervision
  • Knowledge of motivational interviewing, harm reduction, crisis intervention and de-escalation techniques
