Clinical Coordinator

The Clinical Coordinator is responsible for assisting the Clinical Director of Residential Programs in the delivery and oversight of Swords to Plowshares Clinical Programs. These programs serve veterans who have experienced homelessness. Duties of this position include oversight of clinical programs, quality review, and the safety and well-being of program participants. Programs represent a range of services including transitional, stabilization, and permanent supportive housing

  • Case conference facilitation with staff
  • Group and individual clinical supervision of assigned interns
  • Oversight of treatment planning
  • Oversight of staff charting and documentation
  • Staff training and education
  • Client assessment and referral overview
  • Overview of assignment of client caseloads
  • Crisis intervention and response across housing sites
  • Liaison to referring clinicians and acting as clinical resource
  • Coordination of treatment and other communications with community providers, to include the VA
  • Acting as supervisor at transitional sites as needed
  • Travel between Martinez and San Francisco sites
  • Other duties as assigned
  • Minimum of a master’s degree in counseling, social work, psychology, or related field
  • Training in the use of DSM V in order to develop provisional diagnosis
  • Training and familiarity with treatment protocols especially those related to persons with history of trauma, substance abuse, and mental illness
  • Minimum of three (3) years of experience providing counseling and other services to disadvantaged or otherwise “hard to serve” clients.
  • Experience providing clinical supervision to associates registered with the CA BBS (ASW, AMFT, APCC)
  • License required (LCSW, LMFT, LPCC)
  • CA driver’s license
  • Clean driving record (ability to drive company vehicle)
  • Must be able to communicate effectively with a variety of personalities and be comfortable working with an at-risk client population, including embracing the agency’s Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion Initiative
  • Excellent interpersonal and supervisory skills, including conflict resolution, crisis intervention, quality assurance, staff development
  • Effective time management skills are a must for this position
  • Good analytical and organizational ability
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills are mandatory
  • Basic computer skills with proficiency in Microsoft Office for word processing, email, and preparation of spreadsheets
