Family & Housing Services
Swords to Plowshares offers housing services to low-income and homeless veterans and their families through the VA’s Supportive Services for Veteran Families (SSVF) Program. Is your housing stable? Are you behind in your rent? Are you at risk of eviction? Are you currently homeless or living in temporary housing?
Services Provided Upon Eligibility
- Housing search & placement assistance
- Eviction prevention
- Rental assistance
- Utility payments
- Security deposit & first month’s rent
- Move-in expenses assistance
- Childcare expenses assistance
- Transportation assistance
- Application for SSI and SSDI support
- Money Management services
Veterans who earn 50% or less of the median income in their county. Veterans currently residing in San Francisco, San Mateo, Marin, Alameda or Contra Costa qualify for this program. Visit one of our Bay Area locations during drop-in hours or schedule an appointment.
