Mark your calendar for July 15, when we’ll be hosting “Combat to Community: Engaging Veterans in the Workforce” at Golden Gate University. The free presentation will be delivered both as a live event and as a webinar with HR certification credits available.
Creating employment initiatives for veterans is more than a patriotic endeavor or a charitable cause. It’s simple: hiring veterans is good for business. This event will provide an opportunity for recruiters, hiring managers and HR professionals to learn practical means of recruiting, hiring and retaining veteran employees.
During the presentation, attendees will learn about military and veteran culture, including how unique skill sets learned during military service can translate to the civilian side; how to create a veteran-friendly environment to maximize retention; and what obstacles and solutions need to be addressed in order to effectively place veterans in the workforce.
IN-PERSON EVENT ONLY: Participants will have the chance to take part in our Recruitment and Retention Strategy Session featuring expert advice, interviewing hints, and technical assistance to address specific challenges, including a review of your recruitment materials.
