Plumber Internships Now Available For Veterans

Learn what it’s like to be a plumber! Swords to Plowshares is seeking qualified VETERAN candidates for a 12-week Plumber Internship (with stipend) with East Bay Municipal Utility District (EBMUD).

During this 12-week paid internship, you’ll have the opportunity to observe and assist EBMUD plumbers in the installation and minor repairs to hydrants, valves, meters, pressure regulators, and related equipment. You’ll also be assigned to job shadow EBMUD work crews.

Dates: February–May 2015, excluding Spring Recess (March 30th—April 5th)
Schedule: 12-week program minimum of 27 hours/week
Stipend: Up to $8,400 based on enrollment and completion of Laney College’s Cooperative Work Education (CWE) course.

All candidates must be a veteran and currently enrolled in a community college or 4-year university OR already possess an Associates or Bachelors degree.
