Today is the 70th anniversary of “D-Day”, the largest seaborne landing of any military force in recorded history. American veterans are gathered to celebrate the successes and mourn the losses of this massive Allied forces operation credited with bringing about the end of WWII on the European front.
We must never forget the sacrifices made by our military veterans, many of whom are still alive today. The tributes by these surviving veterans to both the living and the fallen are truly inspirational. That’s certainly the case for Jim “Pee Wee” Martin, 93, D-Day paratrooper, who just this morning recreated his jump from a plane on that day so many years ago.
