3Girls Theatre (3GT) is excited to be hosting an art show of original work by women artists in collaboration with Swords To Plowshares. Swords will be hosting its annual SHOUT! for Women Veterans art show on June 12, 2014. 3GT’s show complements SHOUT! as well as our staged readings of Low Hanging Fruit, a new play by playwright Robin Bradford.
The theme of the art show is Low Hanging Fruit, based on the play’s examination of challenges faced by some homeless women veterans after they return home. The play raises powerful questions about the plight of homeless women veterans.
Artists who enter will be eligible to have their work selected as the poster art for the 3Girls Theatre 2014 Summer Festival. Poster submissions will be evaluated by the Festival art committee and, if selected, it will be on display at Thick House (1695 18th Street, San Francisco, CA 94107) during the Festival (July 7-13) and will be viewed by hundreds of audience members that week.
Applicants must be a woman artist who has served in the military or a family member or friend of a woman who served in the military who has been impacted by their service (thus eligible to participate in 2014 SHOUT! the annual art show).
