With funding from The Walmart Foundation, Swords to Plowshares is administering a competitive re-grant program for Texas nonprofit organizations to provide employment and job training services for veterans. The goals of the Texas Veterans Employment and Training Collaborative, a pilot model based on our successful Texas initiative, are to help veterans recently separated from the military prepare for and find new careers in Texas and to increase veterans’ overall health, economic stability and ability to successfully transition to civilian life.
Swords to Plowshares is awarding $200,000 in grants ranging from $20,000 – $70,000 to a minimum of three (3) organizations throughout Texas to provide veteran-specific vocational training and integrated supportive services.
