Veteran Champion, Gordon P. Erspamer’s Living Memory Fund

Life-long veteran advocate, Gordon “Gordy” P. Erspamer, was recently diagnosed with inoperable Glioblastoma, one of the most deadly and aggressive forms of brain cancer. Gordy, a man who has dedicated more than three decades advocating on behalf of military veterans, is reaching out to his friends and colleagues across the nation to donate to the “Gordon P. Erspamer Living Memory Fund.”

Swords to Plowshares has had the honor of working closely with Gordy over the years as he battled the Department of Veterans Affairs to secure the disability benefits our nation’s veterans rightfully earned. As a former member of Swords to Plowshares’ Board of Directors and long-time veteran advocate, Gordy’s contributions to the veteran community are immeasurable. His passion for veterans and social justice is second to none. Click here listen to Gordon P. Erspamer’s acceptance speech for the American Lawyer’s Lifetime Achievement Award.

A message from Gordy and his wife, Trish Bare

“Trish and I appreciate everyone’s attention and care.  We do have one request.  Rather than spend money on flowers to cheer us, we ask that you make donations to Swords to Plowshares or National Veterans Legal Services Program, which is to be used to provide legal representation and advocacy for disabled veterans and their survivors.”

In the acknowledgment field, please indicate that your donation is in honor of the “Gordon P. Erspamer Living Memory Fund.”

“I’ve done a lot of helping individual veterans, but that only gets you so far. I could spend a thousand lifetimes, I could be a thousand lawyers, and still not scratch the surface.” – Gordon P. Espamer
