Alexandra Crichlow

While earning her engineering degree, Alex was recruited by the Air Force. She was the only woman assigned to a unit comprised of 26 men. During her time in service, she faced constant harassment and sexual assaults. William Boehm
U.S. Navy, 1967-1971
Bill is a Vietnam Veteran who had many successes in life before hitting “rock bottom.” After the War he tried to get help at the VA, but at the time post-traumatic stress was not recognized and he was not able to access treatment. His post-traumatic stress went untreated for many years and his personal and business life began to unravel. Eventually he spent several years homeless and wandering the country before seeking help in 2010. (more info)
Sarah Oldridge
U.S. Air Force, 2003-2009
Sarah worked as a Munitions Technician for the Air Force and was deployed several times during her six years of active duty service. She was deployed to Iraq and discovered was that nowhere in Iraq was safe. Sarah found the transition to the civilian workforce challenging. (more info)
Jonathon Lee
U.S. Army, 2001-2005
After 9/11 Jonathon decided to answer the call of duty. Before he was deployed to Iraq, his drill instructor said, “Some of you are going to Iraq, some of you to Afghanistan, and some of you are going to die.” Each time he had a near brush with death, he felt lucky to not be counted among those in the third category of his drill instructor’s prediction. John Page, Sr.
U.S. Air Force, 1970-1975
Shortly after the Vietnam War ended, John’s five years of military service was up. Having developed hypertension while serving, his health issues prevented him from landing the job in air traffic control. With no college education, he struggled to find a job that would allow him to provide for his family. He was devastated and began self-medicating… (more info)
