VA's Homeless Veterans Hotline - The Department of Veterans Affairs' (VA) has founded a National Call Center for Homeless Veterans hotline to ensure that homeless Veterans or Veterans at-risk for homelessness have free, 24/7 access to trained counselors. The hotline is intended to assist homeless Veterans and their families, VA Medical Centers, federal, state and local partners, community agencies, service providers and others in the community. - The Sacramento Veterans Resource Center (SVRC) offers fifty-two (52) onsite, and eight (8) offsite beds for homeless veterans-including female veterans with children. Our supportive housing programs offers up two twenty-four months of stable living, combined with comprehensive supportive services to effectively end the cycle of homlessness and assist veterans in the acquisition of permanent housing and sustainable-wage jobs.
- The North Bay Veterans Resource Center (NBVRC) is our original location in Santa Rosa, California established in 1980. The "Vet House" is the first transitional housing project for veterans in Sonoma County. The 8-bed home is a joint effort by the City of Petaluma, HUD, the Veterans' Administration and NBVRC. The veterans residing in the house work toward training, employment and permanent housing goals.
- North Coast Veterans Resource Center (NCVRC): The "Eureka House" is the first transitional housing project for veterans in Eureka. The 12-bed Victorian has been in continuous operation since 1998. The veterans residing in the house work toward training, employment and permanent housing goals.
New Directions provides a wide variety of services for homeless veterans, including job training and placement, parenting and money management classes, legal and financial assistance, counseling, remedial education and resources for alumni. Residents leave New Directions with a job, housing, a savings account, computer skills, renewed self confidence and the support of mentors and peers. Such a transformation takes hard work, motivation and accountability, but the results are life-altering — and for many veterans, life-saving.

Veterans Homes of California - A significant portion of the mission of the California Department of Veterans Affairs (CDVA) is "to provide the state's aged or disabled veterans with rehabilitative, residential, and medical care and services in a home-like environment at the California Veterans Homes." CDVA currently operates the Veterans Home of California with campuses at Yountville (Napa County), Barstow (San Bernardino County) and Chula Vista (San Diego County).

The Pathway Home program, located on the grounds of The Veterans Home of California - Yountville, is a Residential Recovery program specifically created for, and dedicated to serve, those of any age who have served during the Global War on Terror in areas of the world such as Afghanistan and Iraq. The goal of the Pathway Program is to provide a comprehensive program of treatment and support for its veterans so that they can continue to recover from the stressors of war or other traumatic military-related stressors.

The Fisher House Foundation donates "comfort homes," built on the grounds of major military and VA medical centers. These homes enable family members to be close to a loved one at the most stressful times - during the hospitalization for an unexpected illness, disease, or injury.
