Later this month San Francisco based startup TechCentralSF will launch its “VetsInTech” (VIT) program to help bridge the gap between veterans and the tech community. The goal is to introduce veterans to the tech ecosystem while fostering their innovation and entrepreneur skills.
Earlier in the year TechCentralSF held the first startup/hackathon weekend exclusively for veterans. Supervisor David Chiu was present for the opening and declared the date “Startup Veterans Day” in San Francisco.
The weekend was filled with inspiration and valuable entrepreneur advice from speakers like Craig Newmark, founder of Craigslist and Craigconnects, Chuck Wallace, Esurance Co. founder and Air Force veteran, Steve Blank.
TechCentralSF hopes to bring in the same spirit for their launch of Vets in Tech on July 31, 2012. The event is from 6:00 to 9:00PM. We hope to see you there!
