Laney College’s Career Advancement Academy (CAA) is looking for veterans to enter their career training programs. CAA offers extra support to students such as free textbooks, a cohort studying model and on-site coordinator and counselor. This training is one of the first to use the Veterans Retraining Assistance Program (VRAP).
Students can get their training for a fraction of the cost of private institutions. Also low income California residents can get fee waivers and financial aid if they qualify.
The following job training programs are looking for more candidates:
• Industrial Maintenance: a 9 month maintenance machinist program
• Cabinetmaking: an award winning, 9 month bilingual Spanish/English evening cabinet making program (English only speakers welcome also)
• Green Jobs: a one semester solar installation, design and sales program in the fall and also a one semester energy efficiency course in the spring
