Palo Alto has a new VA facility which specializing in mental health care. It is a good start to deal with record numbers of returning veterans and cases of PTS and TBI which need to be treated. Our men and women who have served multiple tours in Iraq and Afghanistan need to receive the due care as they borne the full cost of war.

As our Executive Director Michael Blecker noted, the facility isolates the veterans for treatment. We believe that our veterans need not isolation but integration into the community. It is the responsibility of our communities to bring returning vets back into the fold. There is no easy solution and we need the input of the community when planning and implementing solutions, like this facility. Only together can we give our veterans their due.
