The Bay Area Military Women’s Collaborative is a community forum for Service Women of any Branch, Component Status, Discharge Status and Era of Service.

This collaborative has the following objectives:

  • Build community among Military Women that fosters relationships, peer support and outreach
  • Build conversation among Military Women about the support we and our families most need
  • Welcome military-friendly community partners who serve military women and their families

Featured Speaker: Star Lara
She is currently the Woman Veteran Coordinator for Swords to Plowshares helping prior service women to access the care and benefits they deserve. She conducts outreach to women veterans, as well as government and community entities relevant to women veterans as well as providing information on veterans’ benefit information.
Star Lara is an Army veteran who served more than twelve years on active duty. She completed two tours to Iraq totaling more than 22 months. Upon completion of her active duty commitment in 2007 she graduated from California State University East Bay where she earned a Bachelor’s degree in Business Management/Organizational Communication.
